1. Cotton Wool Snowmen:
Materials: Cotton wool balls, white cardstock, googly eyes, orange pipe cleaner carrot noses, black sharpie
Time: 10 minutes
Instructions: Let your child stick cotton wool balls onto white cardstock to create a snowman's body. Add googly eyes, a carrot nose, and a smile with a black sharpie. Fun and fluffy!
2. Handprint or Footprint Christmas Cards:
Materials: Paint, paintbrushes, white cardstock, The Crafty Case Company's Digital Christmas Card Templates (only £2.00!)
Time: 15 minutes
Instructions: Download The Crafty Case Company's adorable Christmas Card Templates featuring festive designs for handprints or footprints (link in bio!). Help your child paint their hand or foot a festive color (red, green, gold) and gently press it onto the cardstock following the template guide. Let it dry and personalize their masterpiece!
3. Paper Plate Wreath:
Materials: Green paper plate, red and green construction paper, scissors, glue, hole puncher, ribbon
Time: 15 minutes
Instructions: Cut out the center of the green paper plate to form a wreath shape. Cut out small circles from red and green construction paper for holly berries. Glue the berries onto the wreath. Punch a hole at the top and string a ribbon for hanging.
4. Button Reindeer:
Materials: Red and brown construction paper, buttons (various sizes for body and head), googly eyes, red pom pom nose, pipe cleaner antlers
Time: 10 minutes
Instructions: Cut out a brown reindeer head and red body from construction paper. Glue on different sized buttons for the reindeer's body and head. Add googly eyes, a pom pom nose, and bend a pipe cleaner into antlers glued to the head.
5. Popsicle Stick Ornaments:
Materials: Popsicle sticks, paint, markers, glitter, ribbon
Time: 15 minutes
Instructions: Let your child paint or decorate popsicle sticks with markers and glitter. Once dry, tie a ribbon to the top and hang them on your Christmas tree.
6. Pom Pom Garland:
Materials: Red, green, and white yarn, scissors, cardboard
Time: 20 minutes (depending on garland length)
Instructions: Wrap yarn around a piece of cardboard several times. Slide the yarn off the cardboard and tie the center section tightly. Cut the loops at both ends to create a pom pom. Repeat with various colors and yarn lengths to create a festive garland.
7. Toilet Paper Roll Reindeer:
Materials: Empty toilet paper roll, brown paint, red construction paper, googly eyes, pipe cleaner antlers, brown pom pom nose (optional)
Time: 15 minutes
Instructions: Paint the toilet paper roll brown and let it dry. Cut out reindeer ears from red construction paper and glue them onto the top of the roll. Add googly eyes, pipe cleaner antlers, and a pom pom nose (optional).
8. Paper Snowflake Cutouts:
Materials: White paper, scissors
Time: 10 minutes
Instructions: Fold a square piece of white paper into a triangle. Keep folding the triangle into smaller shapes and cutting out designs. Unfold to reveal a beautiful snowflake!
9. Jingle Bell Ornaments:
Materials: Jingle bells, pipe cleaners, red and green beads
Time: 10 minutes
Instructions: Curl the pipe cleaner around the top of a jingle bell to create a loop for hanging. Thread red and green beads onto the pipe cleaner loop for a festive touch.
10. Salt Dough Ornaments:
Materials: 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup salt, 1/2 cup warm water, cookie cutters, paint, string or ribbon
Time: (Preparation 30 minutes, Drying time 2-3 hours)
Instructions: Mix flour, salt, and water to form a dough. Roll out the dough and use cookie cutters to form shapes. Poke a hole at the top for hanging before baking at 300°F for 30 minutes or until hardened. Let the ornaments cool completely and then paint them with festive colors.
